Seneca Experts-Councils and Seneca Construction will carry out engineering and construction management respectively in close collaboration with our team, a general contractor and many subcontractors for the realization of the plant.
The implementation of the current phase, the commercial demonstration plant, represents an investment of $145 million and will create more than 100 jobs in the Estrie region. Nearly 100 construction workers will be active throughout the construction. First, the casting centre will be operational in the first quarter of 2021 to recycle magnesium. Then, construction will continue for another year in order to finalize the various sectors of the plant. Alliance Magnesium already has about 15 employees. This fall, operations and maintenance personnel will be added to the team in terms of the needs for the casting sector. Then, positions will be posted to gradually meet the needs.
