Michel G. Gagnon is a leading businessman who held the position of Vice-President Finance and Business Development at Aluminerie Alouette, one of the world’s largest aluminum producers. He is a governance specialist and sits on the Board of Directors of several private and public companies.

Dr Joël Fournier, PhD, MBA

President and CTO


Dr. Fournier, founder of Alliance Magnesium, is an international expert in the development of industrial hydrometallurgy and electrochemical technologies. Dr. Fournier is also responsible for the technological development and proprietary processes used at Alliance Magnesium. He has worked for more than 20 years throughout the technology sector. Dr. Fournier holds a Ph.D. in chemistry with a specialization in electrochemistry from the Université de Sherbrooke and a postdoctoral degree from the INRS Energy and Materials Institute.

Gervais Jacques

Non-Executive Director


Gervais Jacques has held the position of executive director at Rio Tinto Aluminum, where he managed more than 6,000 employees in five countries. Mr. Jacques was previously head of commercial affairs for Rio Tinto’s aluminum product group and oversaw global sales and marketing. Mr. Jacques has served as Chairman of the International Aluminum Institute, the Aluminum Association of Canada and Halco Mining. He has sat on the boards of the European Aluminum Association and the American Aluminum Association. He was Vice-Chairman of the Board of Compagnie des Bauxites de Guinée, Director of the Ownership Committee of Aluminerie de Bécancour and Director at Elysis. He currently sits on the Board of 5N Plus.

Taichi Kuribayashi

Non-Executive Director


Taichi Kuribayashi is President of Marubeni Metals & Minerals (Canada) Inc., which is a subsidiary of Marubeni Corporation, one of Japan’s largest companies. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Aluminerie Alouette and President of the Montreal Japanese Association of Commerce and Industry.

Claude Delage, LLB

Non-Executive Director


Claude Delage, co-founder of Alternative Capital Group, has been active in business financing since 1988. He has managed the financial engineering of several clients and has successfully completed numerous mandates in corporate financing, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic consulting.

Normand Bergeron

Non-Executive Director


Normand Bergeron has more than 35 years of experience in the public sector and in managing major projects, notably as Deputy Minister at the Ministère des Ressources naturelles et de la faune du Québec, President of the Agence des partenariats public-privé and President of Infrastructure Québec. He is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Quebec Aluminum Cluster AluQuébec. He has also sat on numerous boards of directors, such as those of Hydro-Québec and the CHUM.

Denis Williams

Non-Executive Director


Denis Williams’ goal is to help companies grow. He has more than 35 years of experience in corporate finance and investment portfolio management. This has provided him with excellent knowledge of the realities on the ground and a proven ability to find solutions and generate results. He was instrumental in setting up Ressources Québec, a fund with more than $1.5 billion under management.

Non-Executive Director


Stéphane Vendette is a senior investment advisor at Fondaction, the investment fund for those working toward the positive transformation of Quebec’s economy. He is part of the Impact Investment team at Fondaction. Driven by sustainable development, his objective is to invest in innovative projects that generate returns while increasing collective wealth. Mr. Vendette has solid experience in financial analysis, corporate finance and investment in both public and private markets.

Nicolas Beauchamp

Non-Executive Director


Nicolas Beauchamp, co-founder of Alternative Capital Group, has been active in business financing since 1988. He has extensive experience in risk assessment, management and restructuring. Beyond his expertise in interim financing, Mr. Beauchamp is involved in the acquisition and sale of businesses and in activities specific to the exempt market.

Tomoo Shirabe

Non-Executive Director


Tomoo Shirabe joined Marubeni Corporation, a Japanese conglomerate, in 2009 and has been active in the light metals industry. He has extensive experience in investment decision making, risk assessment and financial analysis with a broad knowledge of strategic planning and business development.

Dr Martin P. Pelletier, Ph.D, Eng.

Dr. Pelletier is a chemical engineer and consultant for the pulp and paper industry. He was the founder of the Cascades Research Centre, Vice-President Operations of Norampac (now Cascades Containerboard Packaging) and President and CEO of Rolland Inc. He was a member of Cascades Inc.’s Board of Directors from 1984 to 2013, was Chairman of Cascades Inc.’s Environment, Health and Safety Committee, and sat on the Board of Directors of CO2 Solutions.

Pierre Saint-Aubin

Pierre Saint-Aubin, co-founder of Alliance Magnesium, has worked for over 40 years in the fields of corporate finance and financial communications. During this period, he managed the financial engineering of numerous private and public companies in Quebec and elsewhere, in addition to managing the listing of numerous companies on Canadian and American stock markets.

Guy Adam, Eng.

Vice-President, Sustainable Development


Guy Adam has more than 35 years of experience in management and technology in the environmental sector. He started his career as a chemical engineer with ICI Group. He was a General Manager at Newalta and Executive Vice-President at Newalta Corporation, a leader in providing innovative environmental solutions for waste disposal, recycling and waste recovery.

Chantal Francoeur

Vice-President, Human Resources and Communications


Chantal Francoeur has over 30 years of experience in the mining and metallurgical industry, both in Canada and internationally. In 2016, she was named one of the 100 most inspiring women in the mining world. Prior to joining Alliance Magnesium, she worked as Vice-President of Human Resources, Communications and Organizational Development at Nemaska ​​Lithium. Her organizational expertise and her vision of entrepreneurial and workforce development make her an undeniable asset to the company.

Patsie Ducharme

CFO


Patsie Ducharme has dedicated her career to working as a Chartered Professional Accountant, primarily in the pulp and paper, forestry, and packaging sectors and, more recently, in the mining sector. She has held CFO positions over the past few years in both public and private companies. Throughout her career, she has put her business acumen and experience in manufacturing operations to good use and played a leading role in financing, investor relations and mergers and acquisitions.

Rémi Belliveau

Plant Director


Rémi Belliveau joined the Alliance Magnesium team in May 2018. Previously, he was a manager in major companies and worked in the zinc, copper, aluminum and magnesium sectors. He has worked at companies such as Total Metal Recovery and Métallurgie Magnola. He is now plant manager at Alliance Magnesium.

Karine Vallières

Director, Communication and Public Affairs


Karine Vallières joined the team in early 2019. She is a well-respected manager with extensive expertise in public and private sector communications, financial administration and politics who has served two terms as a Member of the National Assembly. Her various roles have given her great professional versatility. She is a skilled communicator and experienced strategist who favours transparency in handling the matters entrusted to her.
